On February 17th, we had our Town Hall Gathering. We had a delicious potluck style brunch with 35 people to review the events of 2023 and share our goals and dreams for 2024. Thanks to everyone who contributed! After the presentation and discussion time, several people stayed to play games, some until nearly midnight! FWGN LLC is in good financial health going into 2024. We have scheduled approximately five more events for this upcoming year. We are going to continue to focus on building community, connecting with others, and contributing make our community even better in the years to come!
Here are our upcoming events for 2024:
March 16th, 2024 – Kid’s Game Day
Just like last year, this free all day event will be held at the Hulen Mall food court. Last year, there were 80+ participants at this fun event and we look forward to even more this year! April 27th, 2024 – Azul Tournament
We are developing a plan for an Azul tournament. This may include all versions of Azul. Or we may narrow down a selection such as Azul, Azul Stain Glass of Sintra, Azul Summer Pavilion, and/or Azul Queen’s Garden. This will potentially be hosted by Luke and Juliana Champlin in north Fort Worth. More details to come please email us if you are interested. <Link coming soon!>
May 18th, 2024 – Party Games
We had a great time last year with about 25 participants in south Fort Worth at Michele Holme’s house. Join us again this year! If you are interested in hosting a party games event please email us or contact us via Facebook.
June 15th, 2024 – TBD Tournament
This tournament is to be determined. We haven’t nailed down a date or game for this tournament yet. Jim Driskell and Jennifer Smith have offered to host in their home in Haslet which is north Fort Worth. We have thrown out the idea of another Heat Tournament or perhaps a Dune Imperium tournament. July 20th, 2024 – Minis Painting
Even though this event was kind of last minute we still had 10 people last year painting minis and having fun! Thanks to Michele for hosting! Regardless of your expertise, come join in on the painting fun! Many of us were new to painting minis last time.

August 2nd – 4th, 2024 – Geek Game Days (Board Game Convention)
This will be our 9th Geek Game Day/s event! We are adding even more hours to the event this year! Come play board games, buy/sell/trade games, learn some new games from our game library, engage in a game tournament, participate in role playing games, and hang out with awesome people in this fun-filled weekend at Bob Duncan Center in Arlington! We had over 430 people at our last Geek Game Days event last year and tickets sell fast!

September 21, 2024 – Party Games

October 19th, 2024 – Costume Party *NEW*
Want to dress up as your favorite character and play games? We are looking for a venue for this fun fall event and considering Geek Out in Mansfield.

December 7th, 2024 – Holiday Party
Last year for our Holiday party, we had 65 board gamers in addition to all the Magic the Gathering players. Geek Out in Mansfield hosted the event and it was a great time. We gave away games and store credit and had Jason’s Deli sandwiches catered in for the group. Mark your calendars and join us there again this year!
As you can see, our community thrives when we collaborate and connect with each other. Looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled year!
